Dr. Shinaver’s Life Coaching Preparation:

Dr. Shinaver has developed this coaching program and it is presently evolving. Aside from working as a therapist for 19 years and as a licensed psychologist for 12 years he has aggressively sought his own further education to create this coaching program. He took the following steps in this process:

1. He became a licensed one on one provider for HeartMath®
2. Dr. Shinaver then investigated several training programs for becoming a coach.
3. He read the book: Co-Active Coaching by Laura Whitworth, Karen Kimsey-House, Henry Kimsey-House, Phillip Sandahl (2007). This provided a conceptual framework for coaching and a set of coaching forms he can use in his coaching practice.
4. Dr. Shinaver began weekly coaching sessions with a certified coach. He will continue for a minimum of 9 hours of coaching.
5. He purchased and will complete all the requirements to be certified by GROW Training Institute’s Certified Professional Coach Program: Therapist Track. He will complete all of these requirements by July 1, 2008.This will include approximately 56 hours of course work.
6. He will do a minimum of 12 hours of coaching which he will incorporate into a formal change of his approach with a few select present clients for whom he will make a formal change of focus to future-orientation and goal accomplishment. This will include the signing of a different set of forms to coincide with this change. (Keep in mind he has worked with scores of clients as a mental health professional for thousands of hours of direct contact with clients).
7. Dr. Shinaver has also engaged a live internet video audience at www.livevideo.com under the channel: “DrChaz”. You can watch him there on some Sundays at 8:00 pm Eastern time. He will do as many shows as is logistically is feasible. There he is discussing the development of his coaching program in the second half of the show (the last 30 minutes). His last show with this focus will be June 29, 2008. At this time he will launch his own coaching program. At this point he will have acquired all the information he needs for the launch of his program.
