  • February 10, 2006 FDA advisers urge heart risk warning on ADHD drugs. The so-called 'black box' warning labels are suggested on 4 of what would be considered to be the most known and probably most used ADHD medications: Strattera, Adderall, Concerta and Ritalin. These warnings involve deaths and cardiac incidents that were associated with the use of these medications.

    Effect of neurofeedback training on the neural substrates of selective attention in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder: A functional magnetic resonance imaging study This small scale, but exciting study found a difference in the neural substrates of children with ADHD who had received neurotherapy and were then assessed with a functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Study. Reported in Science Direct online.

    Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) This site provides a thorough and impressive report: "Drug Class Review on Pharmacologic Treatments for ADHD Final Report September 2005". This review highlights the substantial issues of lack of evidence for safety for the long-term use of these meds for ADHD. This review highlights the serious concerns about the lack of high quality research overall in this area.
